At Merced United, we’re not just about soccer; we're passionate about nurturing a love for all sports. Building on our successful foundation in youth soccer, we're excited to bring the same spirit to basketball. Our basketball league offers a fun, competitive, and inclusive atmosphere that caters to young athletes of all skill levels.

Merced United proudly welcomes Coach Tyler Rogers as the new coordinator for our Merced United Basketball programs. Coach Rogers currently serves as the Athletic Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Stone Ridge Christian School, where he has guided his teams to four CIF Section Championships and earned recognition as a four-time Coach of the Year.

A dedicated family man and community leader, Coach Rogers brings the same values of teamwork, discipline, and integrity that he lives at home to every practice and program he leads. He began coaching in 2017, inspired by a desire to help young athletes grow both on and off the court. As he shares, "I started coaching in 2017, and I love teaching players how to be complete basketball players, not just limiting them to one or two things.”

That philosophy will guide his work with Merced United, where he focuses on developing well-rounded athletes. Coach Rogers embodies what Merced United stands for: family, growth, and the love of the game.

Under his leadership, the Free Merced United Basketball Academy will introduce 4–5-year-olds to basketball through fun, active play designed to build confidence, coordination, and community. Parents are part of the experience too, joining their children on the court as they learn the fundamentals together in a supportive, family-centered environment.

Coaches:

Volunteer Head Coaches who complete the Summer Season and have their child playing will have their full Registration fee refunded.

Season Schedule:

May 31st, 2025: Registration Closes
June 9th, 2025: Practices Start this Week
June 21st, 2025: Tournaments Start
July 26th, 2025: Last Tournament
August 1st: Season Ends

All practices and games will be held Monday - Friday between 5pm-9pm @ Merced Valley Community School Indoor Gym.

MU Basketball Clinics

Every weekend, we host free clinics aimed at improving player skills and understanding of the game. These sessions are great opportunities for players to sharpen their abilities and for parents to engage with coaches and other families.
